13 “Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. 14 Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it. (Matthew 7:13-14, New King James Version)
Application
Jesus often spoke with parables. These are stories or analogies that he used to teach his disciples about the Kingdom of God. This is one of those parables. Here Jesus was saying that he was the narrow gate. If anyone wants to find life he needs to enter by Jesus. He was telling them about the world that we have today. Most people today simply want to live their own life. Jesus speaks about a very different view. He says that whoever has a life will loose it and whoever doesn’t have a life will find it when they seek Him. Let’s take the narrow way. Let’s go against the grain.
Now What…?
Read over these this scripture again and if you do not know Jesus ask him to be the Lord of your life so that you can have life in him. If you have Jesus already then thank him for giving you life. Speak with Jesus this week and share your life with him, he will show you many amazing things.
