Peace

4 Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice!
5 Let your gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is at hand.
6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; 7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
(Philippians 4:4-7, New King James Version)

Application

This scripture is fairly easy to understand. Just take your time reading through it and understand what Paul is saying to the Philippians. He is simply giving them precedents for right living. He is telling them to rejoice in the Lord, be gentle, give thanks when we make requests to the Lord and then he says this. “And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts.” As we rejoice in the Lord and thank him for what he is doing in our lives, the Bible says that he will give us peace that can even be understood. You could be in one of the most difficult situations of your life and God would give you peace that would seem to go beyond your circumstance. The is the kind of God we serve.

Now What…?

I would encourage you to rejoice in the Lord today. Let him take your burdens and give you that peace which goes beyond all understanding. That way it will guard your hearts and minds so that you can walk in all the ways God is placing before you.
